Aren’t you tired of being tired? Aren’t you ready to be done being “too busy” all the time?
It doesn’t have to be like that.
You are not condemned to being an eternal victim. You have a choice. You really can make some changes that will put you in a much healthier spot.
But first, you have to admit something that might not be easy for you: Your choices are putting you in these positions.
Yep, it’s your fault.
I don’t mean to be in-your-face about it. We just have to be willing to own it. Our lives are in our hands.
Sure, things happen to us that are out of our control. But we aren’t left without options. We will never make any significant progress in simplifying our homes if we aren’t willing to make some admissions.
We determine what career path we will pursue and how much time we’re willing to invest in our work. Will a change in career possibly require a change of lifestyle? Sure. But it’s still within our ability to choose.
We determine what toys we will purchase and what sports teams and activities we put our kids into. Will others be disappointed if we decide to make a change? Sure. But it’s still within our ability to choose.
We determine how our house is structured.
We determine what level of expectation is appropriate for us at this stage of our lives.
Will there be people who do it differently and look down on us for how we do it? Sure. But it’s still within our ability to choose.
You have to take ownership for whatever degree of responsibility is yours. You can choose to change! That’s not heavy-handed…that’s good news!
You have to decide that it is no longer acceptable to say, “I’m too busy to declutter.” That’s like saying, “I’m too busy to get rid of the things that make me too busy.”
In what areas have you “settled” recently?
End it today. Determine that you will make a change.
